TruTamil release
For Immediate Release
ndxCards - Note taking, paper writing, index card software
Scottsdale, Arizona, December 14, 2006
TruTamil LLC is now shipping version 1.95 of ndxCards(tm), its popular
note taking, outlining and paper writing application for Windows.
Students, faculty, researchers, sales staff and management
professionals can use ndxCards to organize and manage notes and write
research papers that include bibliographical references.
ndxCards uses the metaphor of an electronic index card to record notes
and ideas. It provides the user freedom to organize notes by keywords,
subjects, sources, and authors, date etc. The software includes
features such as short cut keys and auto-complete fields to make
note-taking easy, and has powerful filtering capabilities to find notes
quickly.
The power of ndxCards lies with its ability to integrate with standard
Office software to enable the notes to be used directly and easily.
Notes can be 'dropped' into a word processor as text or as shapes in
software such as Visio or PowerPoint for visual analysis. A full
featured outlining tool is included to organize ideas and to structure
notes. Such an outline can then be exported as a MS Word document with
bibliographic references or as a bulleted PowerPoint presentation.
Note cards can be 'packed' and shared. For instance, research teams can
share notes on references and collaborate on papers; or sales teams can
share notes on clients, prospects and customer issues in order to
collaborate on marketing campaigns. ndxCards can help improve personal
productivity for anyone: students interested in improving study skills,
researchers interested in organizing information, journalists writing
stories, lawyers interested in writing briefing papers, software
professionals gathering requirements, and just about anyone interested
in organizing information, be it recipe cards or genealogical research.
ndxCards comes in multiple versions-the Academic version includes note
types to record quotations, or summaries and paraphrases, and has
supporting cards for reference sources and authors. The Professional
version includes action cards to jot down tasks and keep track of due
dates, and reminder cards that act as alarms. The Superset version
includes features of Academic and Professional versions plus additional
features such as picture cards and flash cards.
In response to user feedback, version 1.95 includes an updated
outlining tool with many new features, remote data storage, and many
other smaller improvements.
ndxCards runs on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP with Internet Explorer 5.1 or
higher installed. The software requires that all Windows components are
updated to the latest versions.
The Academic and the Professional versions of ndxCards are priced at
$49 and the Superset version at $69 for a single named user license.
Volume discounts are offered to educational institutions. A fully
functional 15-day trial of ndxCards and additional information about
the software is available at http://www.ndxcards.com.
